Small town life in the Panhandle of Texas revolves around two institutions - church and school. Dumas is no different. Fans of all kinds flock to support their students in all of the program that schools offer. These programs would not be successful in Dumas or anywhere else without the unwavering dedication of fans. Eddie Stallwitz is one of those fans. He is active in his community and his church, serving on boards and in organizations whose primary purpose is to make Dumas a better place to live. But just as important has been his focus on supporting students in DISD. He, his children and his grandchildren are all DHS graduates and he has and does spend countless hours supporting the activities of DHS. His entire life serves as a model for any who would ask “what kind of citizen does DISD want to grow?” He has spent his life making his world better for those who have come and will come after him.
