Become a Substitute Teacher
- Schedule & complete an interview. - You will have the opportunity to set up an interview after you receive an email from the application system. The interview email will not be sent until after August 26, 2019.
- Complete necessary paperwork. - You will need to upload your drivers license, Social Security card, and a copy of your high school transcript to your application. After you complete the paperwork, you must bring it by central office at 421 W. 4th Street and return it to Connie Crossland.
- Attend a substitute training. - You must attend substitute training which is required. The next training will be scheduled for Tuesday September 10, 2019 in the board room at Central Office from 4:00-7:00 pm. After the training you will be required to get fingerprinted. Previous fingerprinting can only be accepted if it was done through a school district. If you have not been fingerprinted there is a $47-$55 fee that will have to be paid by the applicant to get fingerprinted.

If you have substituted with DISD and have not attended the required emergency training you may call (806) 922-4432 or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) Chief Larry Payne at the high school to set up an individual emergency training.
