Testing
Texas’ student assessment program is designed to measure the extent to which a student has learned and is able to apply the defined knowledge and skills at each tested grade or course level. Students in grades 3-12 take the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exams. The state also offers the STAAR Alternate 2 assessment for students who have significant cognitive disabilities and are receiving special education services and the Texas English Language Proficiency System (TELPAS) assessment for limited English proficient (LEP) students.
For questions concerning testing contact Lisa Hatley, lisa.hatley@dumasisd.org for TELPAS, CLI, LAS and Pre-LAS
or
our District Testing Coordinator, Nikole Foote, nikole.foote@dumasisd.org for STAAR/EOC, TSI, ACT, SAT, CTE IBC’s, and Fitnessgram
